Mauricio Soto (Saxophone): Costa Rican saxophone player and engineer. Studied saxophone and guitar at the University of Costa Rica. He has been part of important groups in CR. As a result, Mau has had the opportunity to be part of musical tours in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cuba, Argentina, Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Alabama. Mau is currently a PhD student in Software Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
Juan Noguera (Voice): Venezuelan singer with roots in the composition of traditional pieces and folklore of the Andes in Venezuela for 7 years. Juancho dedicates himself to both Engineering and music. He began his musical career in 2008 as a composer and soloist in Florida. This short passage was truncated during the financial crisis, which ultimately led him to his current home in Pittsburgh. Since 2009, he has contrasted his engineering profession with his hobby of musical performance.
Carloz Gil (Trumpet): A native of Monterrey Mexico, Carloz Gil is an active freelance trumpeter and teacher in the greater Pittsburgh area. Mr Gil received his Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University and frequently performs with the Pittsburgh Symphony, River City Brass Band and Wheeling Symphony. In 2016 he completed a three European tour with the Pittsburgh symphony and can be heard on their recent recording of Strauss' Elektra and Der Rosenkavalier from Reference Recordings.
Mateo Mattos (Minor percussion, Sound): Colombian, journalist, DJ, with a passion for music. Mateo has always been moved by a sense of friendship, which has brought him to join his friends in Gavas Beat as percussionist and sound technician.
Angelo Amador (Bass): From San Andres Island, Colombia. Angelo started playing the guitar at age 11. He then progressed as a musician, devoting himself to writing music and playing the bass.
Michell Casab (Electric guitar): Originally from Mexico City, Michell has a Business degree from the National University of Mexico. In 2004, he seized the opportunity to move to Pittsburgh and manage his own pizza shop. He now owns an ice cream shop in addition to the original pizza shop, and is about to open a new pizza restaurant. He started playing guitar over 10 years ago. In 2015, he was invited to join Gavas Beat where he has fulfilled his musical dreams.
Wilfrido Torrenegra (Congas): native from the city of Maracaibo Venezuela, graduated in Industrial Relations, with extensive experience in heave load transportation management. From an early age he began his journey through the music world being part of recognized groups from his city!
Daniel Santander (Piano): Chilean guitarrist and pianist
Jorge Enrique Delgado (Guitar, Tiple): Born in Colombia. As a dentist, educator, and musician, Jorge combines his work as dental scientific editor with his teaching at the U Pitt (education and Latin American studies) and Pittsburgh Career Institute (dental assistance). Under Jose Contreras, Jorge studied guitar. He also studied jazz, composition and orchestration with Ricardo Márquez. Additionally, Jorge studied music theory from the teachings of Guillermo Rendon and Anielka Gelemour.
